Visits to Saran Renewable Energy and Husk Power Systems
showed that gasification has a problem.

Problem

• Products of pyrolysis not removed.
• Tars condense to PM10s (Particulate Matter - 10 mm)
• PM10s follow gas stream round obstacles.

Solution

• Inject biodiesel to evaporate
• Gas stream cools, biodiesel condenses, droplets use nuclei (PM10s)
• Biodiesel spray, larger drops coalesce with smaller
• Form biodiesel sludge
• Add biodiesel sludge to gasifier
